Hotel Monclassico

Monclassico, hamlet of the Val di Sole valley

Monclassico is a mountain village of the Val di Sole valley located in a sunny position from where you can admire the Brenta Dolomites and the nature reserve of the Parco Naturale Adamello-Brenta, near the ski lifts of Folgarida-Marilleva and Madonna di Campiglio. This peaceful hamlet has sport facilities and a picturesque bio lake.

Monclassico and its administrative division Presson have about 1000 inhabitants making a living on tourism, industry and apple growing. Its territory is for the large part included in the nature reserve of the Parco Naturale Adamello-Brenta, rich of paths, trekking trails and mountain biking trails. In the village there is also a tennis court, a bowling lane and a football field.

In summer you can swim in the bio lake, a natural swimming pool open from July to August using the purifying properties of plants and micro organisms to clean the water in place of chemical substances like chlorine. Near the lake there are a playground and a bar. In summer you can ski on the slopes of Marilleva, Folgarida and Madonna di Campiglio, since the ski lifts are only a few km away from the village.

Since 2003 you can reach Monclassico by train. The center of the village is certainly worth a visit, with its stately palaces, the church of Saint Vigil containing wood and marble altars, and the ancient house with its large fresco. Moreover, Monclassico has one of the most beautiful stue, a type of stoves typical of Trentino, now kept in the museum Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum of Innsbruck.
