Brenta Dolomites - Paganella. Sport holidays in the nature

The Paganella is a small mountain group formed by a plateau and peaks under the 2125 m. The massif rises east of Trento and is surrounded by the Adige Valley, the Valle dei Laghi valley and the Valli Giudicarie valleys. The imposing Brenta Dolomites group overlooks the landscape. Known and loved by climbers and trekkers all over the world for their beauty and the incredible variety of the countless climbing routes, vie ferrate and trails, these magnificent mountains are reflected in the waters of the Molveno Lake. Poets have praised the beauty of this lake that attracts both water sports lovers and those who simply want to relax and sunbathe on its wonderful shores.

In winter the state of the art Skiarea Paganella offers wide and well groomed slopes for Alpine skiing, always covered with snow, like the famous 3-Tre, stage of many remarkable exploits, and the Olimpionica 2, training ground of the USA men's Alpine skiing team. Of course there are also a well equipped snowboard park and two cross-country skiing trails, whereas kids can learn how to ski while having fun in the ski kindergarten Pinocchio Club of Andalo and in the winter playground Paganella Fun Park of Fai della Paganella. Winter sports lovers can enjoy their active holidays even outside the ski resort: who wants to explore the mountains in winter and appreciate all its beauty far from the slopes have at their disposal, in the nature reserve of the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta, unique ski mountaineering routes and snowshoeing trails. If you are a romantic soul you can't miss a horse-drawn sleigh ride, while if you feel adventurous and brave you can enjoy the thrill of a tour on the snowmobile and on the snow cat, or climb an ice wall.

In summer in this area there is no lack of extraordinary trekking trails: thanks to the lift facilities you can in fact quickly reach the peak of the Paganella Mountain, admire the wonderful landscape so much praised by singers and poets end explore the green pastures and the forests of the plateau. You can go for pleasant walks around the clear waters of the Molveno Lake, enclosed between the Brenta Dolomites and the Paganella, or explore the trails on the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta, the biggest nature reserve of the Trentino province, hosting a large variety of protected plant species and animal species, among which the brown bear stands out, recently reintroduced into this territory. In the Spormaggiore Animal Refuge Park you can observe these wonderful animals close up. The nature reserve offers countless hiking tours suitable to every hiker, even the less trained, while the most difficult trails, like the famous and wonderful Via delle Bocchette or the Sentiero degli Orsi, go up towards the immense rock cathedral of the Brenta Dolomites, a true paradise for mountaineers, coming here from all over the world to challenge its walls.

The plateau is without doubt the perfect destination if you like active holidays, since here the offer of sport activities is really huge: Andalo features a leisure center covering more than 100.000 sq. m with swimming pool, football field, tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, bocce court, riding school, climbing gym, ice rink, trim trail, wellness center, a well equipped conference center and a large playground for kids. In the Molveno Lake you can practice sport fishing, sailing, windsurfing, and canoeing with the Olympic champion Antonio Rossi, whereas every summer in the leisure center of Fai della Paganella you can attend gymnastics classes with the great Olympic champion Yuri Chechi. If you love cycling you can't miss the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike, a 160 km long mountain bike stage tour around these wonderful peaks, while the bravest can experience the thrill of paragliding and hang gliding.
