Lake of Idro

Eridio is the ancient name of this glacial basin, like thousand of lakes scattered around the Alpine area. It has a surface of 11.5 square km and the typical elongated shape. The lake lies on Brescia territory, but its northeastern bank belongs to Trentino, to Bondone town council, in the Val del Chiese. The lake of Idro, little but absolutely unique, is a blue spot in the green of wood and meadows, and along its shore four villages lie (Baitoni in Trento province, and Ponte Caffaro, Anfo and Idro in Brescia Province). In the last years the area has been enriched with hotels and other facilities. Besides fishing you can practice windsurfing and sailing thanks to the constant wind too.
