Cross-country skiing route: Sesto - Alpe Nemes

The Sesto – Alpe Nemes cross‑country skiing trail is a high‑altitude route that starts from Monte di Mezzo in Sesto and leads to the wide, sunlit basin of the Alpe di Nemes, offering open views of the Sesto Dolomites along the entire way.

The 9 km trail, with a 200‑metre elevation gain, is rated as moderately difficult—an ideal choice for skiers with some experience who are looking for a smooth yet rewarding route. The track is suitable for both classic cross‑country skiing and skating, thanks to its wide and well‑groomed surface.

The itinerary unfolds across a gentle, sunny plateau, alternating forest sections with more open stretches that reveal the surrounding peaks. The climbs are steady and never too demanding, while the descents remain manageable, making the route perfect for maintaining a fluid rhythm and fully enjoying the natural landscape.

Reaching the Alpe di Nemes is one of the most scenic moments: a bright, open meadow framed by mountains, home to the Malga Nemes hut, an inviting stop for a panoramic break or a starting point for continuing on foot or with snowshoes.
