  • 120 gr. butter
  • 200 gr. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 gr. flour
  • 1 package brewer's yeast
  • Milk and salt
  • 400 gr. walnuts
  • 300 gr. figs
  • 150 gr. golden raisins
  • 150 gr. currants
  • 100 gr. candied cedar
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1 glass of brandy


This typical Christmas sweet is generally served with Moscato or other dessert wines. The recipe is quite difficult, and using the right amounts of ingredients is essential. Mix butter, sugar and eggs, then add flour, brewer's yeast, salt and milk. Add cedar, currants, brandy, then walnuts and golden raisins cut into pieces Stir for about 15 minutes then roll out the dough on a baking tray. Put in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
