Berggasthof Fichtenhof

From the renovation of an over 300-year-old farmstead, the Fichtenhof guesthouse and restaurant was created at 1328 m a.s.l. in the small hamlet of Cauria, in the municipality of Salorno. Located in a sunny position, it is a paradise for families, where the little ones will feel at home, as well as for those seeking peace surrounded by nature. The Fichtenhof offers overnight accommodation with breakfast and half board (if specified in the booking).

Located in a very quiet area that lends itself to countless activities in nature, it is the perfect starting point for hikes and forest bathing in the Trudner Horn Nature Park and cycling tours along South Tyrol's most beautiful cycle paths. Also located along the European Path connecting Germany with Verona, where everyone can choose the stages they want to walk, the Fichtenhof is the ideal refreshment point: the route book can be found here. In the vicinity of the Fichtenhof are some of the most beautiful via ferratas in the Adige Valley and Bassa Atesina, such as the Burrone di Mezzocorona, the Rio Secco in Cadino and the Favogna ferrata.

Built in 1964 to accommodate people who increasingly walked in the woods, today the Fichtenhof has become a cosy, family-run establishment renowned for its local cuisine with a Mediterranean influence.

The love for the land, nature and animals, the Slow Food culture and the use of herbs and quality ingredients, partly grown by the owner in her own garden and partly sourced from local and regional suppliers, give guests an immersive experience in the tastes and flavours of this beautiful region. Thanks to the family's passion and constant commitment handed down from generation to generation, the restaurant open for lunch and dinner has been on the Slow Food 'Osterie d'Italia' circuit since 2003. Among the culinary offerings, the canederli (dumplings), homemade maltagliati, Schlutzer filled with ricotta, venison goulash, Aurina Valley grey cheese and various desserts prepared daily are worth a mention. On request, you can discover all of Ingrid's secrets by cooking together dumplings, rye bread, krapfen and many other delicacies.

For wine lovers, sommelier Uli will recommend the best wines to go with your dishes. The well-stocked wine cellar offers fine regional wines such as Lagrein, Schiava, Sylvaner and Gewürztraminer, as well as other Italian delicacies. Tastings and cellar tours can be organised on request.

Furnished with wooden floors and furniture in typical South Tyrolean style, the double and single rooms are equipped with shower, toilet and TV. Fichtenhof also has a flat located on the ground floor in an adjacent building and equipped with a double room, living room, well-equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower and garden. It is also possible to stay overnight with your own tent or camper van.

The hotel also offers a Kneipp path and a Finnish wood-fired saunain the garden, a panorama terrace and an infrared cabin.
