Bobsleigh and skeleton, the World Cup returns to Cortina after 15 years

07 May 2025

Cortina d'Ampezzo will be the stage for the first stage of the 2025/26 bobsleigh and skeleton World Cup season. The new “Eugenio Monti” track, recently tested by the athletes with the first runs on ice, will host the debut of the top international circuit, which will also serve as a test event in view of the 2026 Olympics in February.

The calendar includes a week of official practice from 7 to 16 November, followed by the races from 17 to 22 November. This event will mark the return of the World Cup to Italy after 15 years: the last Italian stage dates back to February 2011 in Cesana Pariol, the track that hosted the 2006 Turin Olympics.

After Cortina, the circuit will move to Igls the following week. December will see two consecutive appointments in Lillehammer (8 to 14 and 15 to 21), while after the Christmas break the races will resume in Winterberg (29 December - 4 January). Then, from 5 to 11 January, St. Moritz will host the competitions also valid for the European titles.

This will be followed by an appointment in Altenberg (12-18 January) before the long break for the Olympic Games (6-22 February). The season will finally end in Koenigssee, with the last races scheduled for March.
