Cross‑Country Skiing in the Isarco Valley

The Isarco Valley offers 294 km of perfectly groomed cross‑country ski trails, all set in panoramic locations with consistently reliable snow conditions.

Alta Val di Vizze

In recent years, Alta Val di Vizze has become a favourite destination for cross‑country skiing enthusiasts. Around 25 km of trails wind through meadows and forests, offering a peaceful and scenic experience. Across the wider Upper Isarco Valley, skiers can enjoy a total of 70 km of trails.

Laion and Colle Isarco

Between Laion and Colle Isarco, skiers will find around 20 trails, ranging from the lowest at Vandoies (760 m) to the highest at Passo delle Erbe (2,000 m). A highlight is the 22‑km “Silbertalloipe”, which runs from Colle Isarco to Sant’Antonio. Suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers, the route includes 5 km of intermediate terrain and 17 km of easy sections.

Ridanna Valley

The Ridanna Valley is a broad, open valley seemingly made for cross‑country skiing, offering 20 km of trails, including two classic tracks and one skating track. In the Racines Valley, a beautiful 10‑km trail leads from Racines (1,200 m) to Vallettina (1,482 m), featuring a classic loop with both easy and intermediate stretches. Another route connects Casateia (980 m) to Mareta (1,070 m), passing through Stanghe (1,020 m). Several refreshment points are available along the way.

Vipiteno–Montecavallo

The Vipiteno–Montecavallo area offers a fantastic 6‑km high‑altitude trail, ideal for skiers seeking panoramic views and crisp mountain air.

Valles/Jochtal and Racines/Giovo

In Valles/Jochtal, a cross‑country trail runs along the entire valley floor. In Racines/Giovo, the trails are meticulously maintained, and numerous winter paths cross the snowy landscape.
