Cross-country skiing and biathlon in Val di Zoldo

The Zoldo Valley offers many opportunities for both fans of Nordic skiing and those who want to approach this sport for the first time. Cross-country skiing has always given prestige to the valley, in fact, there are many local athletes who have participated in important international and world competitions.

There are several tracks of Nordic skiing in set in natural peace and tranquility.

The cross-country trail "Fattor Pompeo" in Palafavera is located at an altitude of 1550 m a.s.l. dominated by Mount Pelmo and Civetta. With its 3 circuits from 1 to 6.2 km of easy-medium difficulty and two more technical variants of about 2 km, the cross-country centre "Fattor Pompeo" is suitable for both more experienced athletes and families. The track is initially flat and then continues with climbs and descents of medium difficulty.

Since 2014 in Palafavera we also find the Biathlon centre, a regular range with 30 pitches near the Alpine ski slopes of Ski Civetta, the only structure of its kind in the Province of Belluno and the Veneto Region.

The track of Campo is located at 845 m a.s.l. in Zoldo Valley and provides a single path of 6 km fully lit for evening skiing. The circuit is designed for races of classical technique.

In the nearby locality of Val Fiorentina-Selva di Cadore, at the foot of Mount Pelmo, we find the "Centro fondo Peronaz" at 1600m a.s.l. with 5 easy-medium difficulty circuits from 2 to 10 km that wind through the woods in an enchanting and peaceful setting. The centre includes a school camp suitable for beginners, more challenging routes for amateurs and athletes and a biathlon centre.

Between the Cadore and the Zoldo Valley, in Cibiana di Cadore, there is another location for Nordic skiing: the cross-country track "Deona" located at an altitude of 1530 m a.s.l. with 3 circuits from 2 to 7.5 km of easy-medium difficulty that wind around the Forcella Cibiana. Initially the tracks alongside the provincial road and then enter the woods with more challenging climbs and descents. The 2 km circuit is fully lit for evening skiing lovers.
