Three days of racing, two venues and the best cross-country skiers in the world, ready to battle it out until the last, spectacular climb. From 8 to 10 January 2027, Val di Fiemme will once again take centre stage with the Tour de Ski, the prestigious stage race on the Cross-Country World Cup calendar, which this year too will conclude on the snows of Trentino. An event that has been renewed since the competition's inception, confirming the special bond between the valley and great Nordic skiing.
The programme opens on Friday 8 January at the Stadio del Fondo in Lago di Tesero with the 30 km Skiathlon. The athletes will compete over two 15 km legs, the first in classic technique and the second in freestyle, including a change of equipment mid-race.
On Saturday 9 January it will be the turn of the 1.5 km Freestyle Sprint, once again on the tracks of Lago di Tesero. A venue that has written important chapters in the history of world Nordic skiing, hosting three editions of the World Championships, in 1991, 2003 and 2013, as well as the 2013 Winter Universiade. In 2026 the facility also played a leading role in the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, while attention is already turning to the next major event in 2028, the YOG.
The most anticipated moment will come on Sunday 10 January with the legendary Cermis Final Climb, the challenge that for twenty years has set the seal on the Tour de Ski. The 10 km freestyle Mass Start will take the athletes along the "Olimpia III" piste, normally dedicated to alpine skiing, up gradients reaching 30%. A climb unique in its kind, destined once again to decide the fate of the competition and deliver a high-intensity finale.
Making the event possible will be the team of Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme, supported by the commitment and passion of the many volunteers who, with their contribution, will bring three days of great sport to life.
