Dolomiti Superski, the 2024-2025 ski season kicks off

The 51st winter season of Dolomiti Superski is just around the corner. The vast ski area will officially open on Saturday, November 29, with the first lifts running in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Plan de Corones, 3 Cime Dolomites, Val di Fiemme-Obereggen, Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino, San Martino di Castrozza and Civetta.

During the summer and autumn months, the 130 cableway companies of the consortium worked intensively to renew and enhance the infrastructure. In total, 13 lifts have been replaced or modernized across 9 of the 12 Dolomiti Superski areas, while many others underwent major maintenance and snowmaking system upgrades.

Among the most anticipated innovations is the new 3S Col Rodella gondola lift in Val di Fassa, built by SIT Canazei — the first tri-cable gondola in the Dolomites. This state-of-the-art installation will offer greater transport capacity and superior wind stability. Departing from Campitello di Fassa, it replaces the historic “vai e vieni” cable car, improving access to the ski area during peak times. Testing is scheduled for December, with opening planned by Christmas 2025.

Cortina d’Ampezzo

• New Lacedel-Socrepes gondola (10 seats, capacity 3,000 p/h).
• New 20,000 m³ snowmaking reservoir at Cinque Torri.

Plan de Corones

• Periodic overhaul of several gondolas in Brunico.
• Improvements to the Mittelstation, Pramstall, and Gipfel slopes.
• Major maintenance on the Piz de Plaies gondola (San Vigilio).
• Upgraded snowmaking system at Passo Furcia.

Alta Badia

• New Forcelles chairlift (6 seats, 2,600 p/h) in Colfosco.
• New La Crusc 1 gondola (10 seats, 2,400 p/h) in San Leonardo.
• New Codes drag lift (900 p/h) at Piz Sorega.
• Renovated snowmaking systems on Bamby and La Fraina.
• Two new underground water reservoirs (4,970 m³ each) in Corvara.

Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi

• New underground snowmaking reservoir at Monte Pana (5,000 m³).
• New 18,000 m³ reservoir on Alpe di Siusi.
• General snowmaking upgrades and new final section of Ciampinoi slope no. 3.

Val di Fassa / Carezza

• New 3S Col Rodella gondola (22 cabins, 30 passengers each).
• New 8-seater cabins for Pian Frataces in Canazei.
• Overhaul of Orsa Maggiore chairlift (Ciampac).
• New Franzin gondola (10 seats, 2,400 p/h) in Carezza.
• Upgraded snowmaking systems across the valley.
• Ciampedie cable car renewal with new cabins.

Arabba / Marmolada

• New Lezuo-Belvedere gondola (10 seats, 3,400 p/h) at Passo Pordoi.
• Overhaul of Capanna Bill-Passo Padon chairlift.
• Snowmaking improvements on Salere and Bellunese slopes up to 2,800 m.

3 Cime Dolomites

• New Kameriot drag lift in Braies (742 m, 900 p/h).
• New Passo Monte Croce drag lift (579 m, 900 p/h).
• New Waldheim conveyor belt (203 m).
• Extended and improved snowmaking network.

Val di Fiemme / Obereggen

• New Latemar gondola in Pampeago (10 seats, 2,700 p/h).
• Overhaul of Absam-Maierl chairlift in Obereggen.
• New parking area in Bellamonte.
• Upgraded snowmaking at Passo Oclini.

San Martino di Castrozza / Passo Rolle

• Snowmaking improvements throughout the area.
• General overhaul of the Rododendro chairlift.

Rio Pusteria / Bressanone

• New Brunner drag lift (447 m, 900 p/h) in Gitschberg-Jochtal.
• Overhaul of Schilling, Gaisjoch, and Tasa lifts.
• New Kids Cross Gitschberg and snowmaking upgrades.

Alpe Lusia / San Pellegrino

• New Cima Uomo chairlift (4 seats, 1,790 p/h, 688 m).
• Increased capacity of Saline-Laresei chairlift (from 2,190 to 2,400 p/h).
• Snowmaking upgrades on Monzoni and Laresei slopes.
• Major maintenance on San Pellegrino-Costabella chairlift.

Civetta

• Snowmaking improvements in Val Fiorentina and Alleghe, with completion of the Black Run.
• Overhaul of Casot di Pecol-Col de Grava chairlift in Val di Zoldo.
