Lakes of the Cevedale

The Laghetti del Cevedale are high‑mountain lakes located within the Stelvio National Park, near the Rifugio Larcher al Cevedale, along one of the most scenic hiking routes in the area. All the lakes lie at an altitude of around 2,600 metres.

Lago Lungo is a glacial lake shaped by ancient ice.

Lago Nero was formed by a moraine barrier; its name refers to the dark colour of its waters, caused by the depth of the basin and the geological characteristics of the surrounding terrain.

Lago delle Marmotte is of glacial origin and is fed directly by the Vedretta delle Marmotte. Its main attraction is the striking alpine scenery that surrounds it. The lake covers an area of over 22,000 m².

Lago Careser, on the other hand, is an artificial reservoir built in the mid‑1930s. Located not far from Malga Mare, it serves as a starting point for several routes within the Stelvio National Park.
