Köser Valley – Malga Laner – Schmieder and Schönrast/Bel Riposo: Panoramic Hike from Pietralba

This pleasant circular hike leads through some of the most scenic corners of the Val d’Ega, crossing quiet forests, wide alpine meadows and traditional mountain huts overlooking a beautiful Dolomite panorama.

The route starts from the square in front of the Sanctuary of Pietralba, one of South Tyrol’s most iconic spiritual landmarks. From here, follow trail no. 15, which crosses the forest and reaches the sunny Pichlwiese meadow. The path then continues along the E5 trail, entering the peaceful Köser Valley, where the landscape opens up into clearings and pastures.

The ascent leads to Malga Laner, an ideal spot for a short break, before continuing on trail G towards the Schmieder and Schönrast/Bel Riposo mountain huts, immersed in an authentic and atmospheric alpine setting. After crossing the Pichlwiese meadow once again, the route returns to the Sanctuary along trail no. 15.
