Mount Sella di Sennes

Starting point is the Sennes refuge. Continue to the Munt de Senes hut (2116m) and continue along trail no. 27 until you reach the summit. Walk across pastures and meadow ridges to the normal route on the scree slope to the right of the summit. A short section leads to the last part of the hike: you keep to the route towards Monte Sella, the trail becomes a high mountain path and cuts obliquely across the scree. Here you can stop for a moment to admire the Sennes Plateau below. The last section deserves a little more attention due to the unstable bottom of shifting gravel. A few tens of metres later, the track becomes comfortable again, with grassy crags and high-altitude meadows, until you reach the summit at an altitude of 2787 metres.

The view here is splendid: you can see the Aurine Alps, the Olang Dolomites, the Pusteria valley, the Plan de Corones...

How to reach Sennes hut from San Vigilio di Marebbe

Starting from San Vigilio di Marebbe, take the road to the Rudo Valley (11 km). From the Nature Park enclosure, you will reach the Pederù hut. Immediately after the prohibition, the gravel road splits in two; follow the one on the left that goes over a rocky drop in steep hairpin bends. When you reach the Fodara Vedla hut after a very steep climb, continue along the road, turning left at the fork, following the signs for the Sennes hut.  The coniferous forest gives way to large expanses of dwarf pine and a few peaks begin to appear, such as Sas dla Para, Little Croda Rossa and Croda del Becco.
