The Val di Sole cycle path runs along the entire valley, following the course of the Noce River from Mostizzolo to Cogolo di Peio, covering 35 km of gentle ups and downs. This mixed-use cycling and walking route is not demanding and is perfectly suitable for families with children.
The cycle path begins in Mostizzolo, near the Trento–Malè railway station. From the bridge overlooking the deep gorge carved by the Noce River, the route enters a beautiful spruce forest, which soon opens into cultivated fields and wide meadows leading to Malè. At Ponte Stori there is a well-equipped rest area. The path continues with views of the imposing Castel Caldes and the Rocca di Samoclevo, crossing a broad grassy area that leads to Dimaro, running parallel for a long stretch to the Trento–Malè railway.
The cycle path crosses Dimaro and continues through Mestriago and Piano. From here, it returns to follow the Noce River, passing first Mezzana and then Pellizzano, where the Bicigrill is located. A flat section leads to Ossana and the San Michele Castle. A short climb near the campsite brings you to the bridge that leads to Fucine. From Fucine, the flat route crosses the Peio Valley up to Forno di Novale, where a climb leads to Comasine. After a brief ascent, the cycle path descends to reach Cogolo.
The recommended period for cycling this route is from April to November.
The itinerary can be divided into six stages, to be completed entirely by bike or partly using the Dolomiti Express train or the Bike Bus. Bicycles and mountain bikes can be rented locally.
