Tour of Lake Resia

This itinerary is a beautiful and easy family‑friendly bike ride, mostly along paved cycle paths. It starts at the bell tower of Curon Venosta and heads north towards Resia, passing the moored sailboats waiting for the wind.

The route to follow is not the one leading to the Austrian border, but the one towards Resia, along the western shore of Lake Resia. After passing the valley station of Belpiano, a gentle climb begins, running along the lakeshore. Continue to the southern shore, where the dam offers stunning views of the Ortler rising behind the Muta di Malles.

Near the dam wall, turn north and enjoy the panorama of the lake and mountains on the way back to Curon Venosta. When the wind picks up, the lake fills with sails and the shoreline comes alive with colorful kites.

There are many opportunities to stop along the way: at Giernhof and Greinhof, or in the villages of Resia, San Valentino, and Curon Venosta.
