Ideal for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the authentic nature of the Vette Feltrine, the CAI Trail 804 is a well-marked tourist route that crosses quiet forests, wild valleys and pristine environments within the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. A short but captivating hike, perfect for families, relaxed walkers and lovers of lesser‑known mountain landscapes.
Start: Valle delle Grave (1170 m)
The route begins in the peaceful Valle delle Grave, where the trail immediately enters a beautiful beech forest. The terrain is regular and well maintained, making it easy to find your pace from the very first steps. CAI signage is clear and continuous, ensuring excellent orientation.
Crossing the Val di Neva
Continuing north, the trail enters the Val di Neva, a cool and shaded environment characterized by:
- mature beech woods
- small grassy clearings
- crossings of streams that are almost always dry
The path maintains a moderate and steady incline, suitable even for less experienced hikers.
Ascent through the Val di Scarnia
The second part of the itinerary develops in the Val di Scarnia, at the foot of the rocky walls of Sasso Scarnia. The landscape gradually opens up, offering evocative views of the Vette Feltrine and the wild morphology of the Park.
The terrain remains easy, with grassy stretches alternating with short rocky sections, always well marked.
Arrival at Forcella di Scarnia (1598 m)
The final section climbs more steeply but without technical difficulties, reaching the Forcella di Scarnia, a panoramic saddle offering wide, bright views over the surrounding valleys.
It is an ideal spot for a break, immersed in the silence and unspoiled nature of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.
Connections and variants
From the saddle, it is possible to continue or connect with other CAI routes:
