Agriturismo Villa di Modolo - Cortile della Latteria

In the heart of Valbelluna, just a few kilometers from Belluno, stands Villa di Modolo, a historic residence of exceptional charm, built in the 17th century by the noble Miari Fulcis family, who held the title of Counts by decree of Emperor Sigismund since 1412. Nestled in the tranquil countryside of Belluno, the Villa is reached via a small square featuring the family chapel dedicated to Saint Lawrence. Passing through the 18th‑century gate, visitors enter an elegant garden, walk past the old warehouse, and arrive at the imposing 19th‑century villa designed by Andrea Miari.

A residence that tells centuries of history

The story of the villa is deeply intertwined with the Miari Fulcis family, whose roots date back to the 11th century in the Vicenza and Belluno regions. Family members distinguished themselves over centuries in institutions, culture, and military service. Among the most notable figures are Andrea Miari, captain of Feltre in 1110, and Bartolomeo Miari, who raised the flag of Saint Mark over Belluno Castle in 1404.

The villa's current appearance dates to the 18th century and features a central body adorned with ionic and Corinthian semi-columns, flanked by a side wing and the Barchessa, with a ground‑floor portico and historic cellars marked with the date 1644. The complex is one of the most elegant examples of a Venetian villa in the Alpine region, seamlessly integrated into the Dolomite landscape.

During the First World War, the villa served as a field hospital; in the 1920s and 30s, it was fully restored. Today, the exterior staircase still bears the Miari family crest, the date 1806, and the name of the stonemason Giovanni Maria De Vetori. The garden features a magnificent 17th‑century wellhead decorated with noble coats of arms, remnants of an ancient fountain, and—in the rear—a romantic park overlooking the Schiara mountain group.

Exclusive venue for events, weddings and team‑building

Villa di Modolo is now one of the most exclusive event venues in the province of Belluno. It offers an elegant atmosphere and a strategic location, just 11 kilometers from the Belluno highway exit. It provides the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, corporate events, team‑building and private gatherings, with evocative and functional spaces.

The main floor welcomes guests in its frescoed rooms and the majestic Salone delle Vedute, accompanied by the spacious Sala delle Meridiane—one of the largest in the province at 288 square meters—and the Sala delle Colonne, characterized by its sober and elegant style.

Outside, the main garden stretches over approximately 8,000 square meters on the south side of the villa, framed by the impressive Palladian facade. Expansive lawns, historic loggias, and a large gravel courtyard create a perfect backdrop for outdoor events, ceremonies, and buffets. On the north side, the Romantic Garden offers an unparalleled view of the Dolomite Schiara range, making every event an unforgettable experience immersed in the beauty of the landscape.

A refined holiday farm blending nature, comfort and design

Just steps away from the villa, the former barn’s dairy now hosts a stylish holiday farm, where rural tradition meets contemporary design. The lovingly restored complex offers bright rooms and apartments, furnished in a clean, elegant style, with wood floors, panoramic windows, and luxurious bathrooms with rain showers. Each space offers a unique view of Valbelluna, the city of Belluno, and its distant bell tower.

Guests enjoy a hearty breakfast with fresh local products in the light‑filled Breakfast Room on the ground floor. Apartment guests, instead, can request breakfast served directly in their accommodations, for an especially intimate and relaxed start to the day.

Each room includes courtesy sets by Unifarco, a leading regional brand in natural cosmetics, which chose Villa di Modolo as the venue for its corporate events, leaving a subtle but distinctive mark on hospitality.

The holiday farm is now energetically self-sufficient and preserves its original charm while offering modern and sustainable comfort. Both indoor and outdoor spaces make it perfect for any stay—from a romantic weekend to a corporate retreat—immersed in the scents of the countryside and surrounded by vineyards, in a setting of authentic beauty.

An authentic stay amid Dolomites, culture and relaxation

The farm holiday is the ideal starting point to explore Valbelluna, an authentic region still untouched by mass tourism, where historic villages, ancient churches, Venetian villas, nature trails and bike routes—such as the renowned Venice–Munich trail—blend experience, culture and relaxation.

Within easy driving distance are the Nevegal plateau, Alpago with Lake Santa Croce, the Cansiglio Forest, Lake Mis, and the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. Art cities like Venice, Padua, and the Prosecco Hills are also easily accessible by car, completing an offering that combines authentic hospitality, beauty and elegant experiences in a place of timeless charm.
