Christmas Market in Ortisei: The Christmas Village
During the Christmas season, Ortisei transforms into a Christmas Village, with its pedestrian zone beautifully decorated and brought to life by numerous events.
Around 20 traditional wooden chalets welcome local exhibitors and artisans. Strolling through the market stalls, visitors can discover Christmas decorations, handcrafted products and wooden artworks, traditionally created by the skilled artisans of Val Gardena.
The atmosphere is made even more magical by live music and traditional Alpine horns, while the enticing aromas of cinnamon, gingerbread and mulled wine fill the air.

Mountain Christmas in Selva di Val Gardena
In Selva di Val Gardena, Christmas takes on an even more evocative atmosphere thanks to Mountain Christmas, a festive market surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites.
The Christmas route features a spectacular string of lights stretching for around 350 metres, along which small wooden cabins are set up. Together, they recreate an authentic Christmas mountain village, with characteristic buildings made of wood and stone.

How to reach the Christmas Markets in Val Gardena
Val Gardena is easily accessible by car, train, bus and plane.
By car
From the south: from Verona, take the motorway towards Trento and Bolzano, continuing to Chiusa. From here, take the Chiusa – Val Gardena exit.
From the north: from Innsbruck, follow the route through the Brenner Pass to Chiusa, then follow the signs for Val Gardena.
From Chiusa, follow the main road through the valley to reach Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva di Val Gardena in succession.
By train
Major IC, IR and EC trains stop in Bolzano or Bressanone. From both cities, you can continue to Val Gardena by bus, with several connections available throughout the day.
By bus
