The Lago Ghedina (1,457 m) lies at the foot of the Tofane, to the north‑west of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
In reality, there are two small lakes: on the shores of the larger one stands the Rifugio Lago Ghedina.
How to reach Lago Ghedina
ake the urban bus from Cortina to Fiàmes, then walk 400 metres south along the main road.
Turn right, crossing the Ponte de ra Sia.
A paved road leads to the lake in about 3 km.
Hike to Lago Ghedina with the Freccia nel Cielo Cable Car
An alternative option is to use the first section of the Tofane cable car “Freccia nel Cielo”. Take the gondola to Col Drusciè. Follow the trail descending towards Pié Tofana. At the junction, take trail no. 410 on the right and continue until you pass the In Po’ Druscié Lake, a heart‑shaped artificial lake used for snowmaking.
At the next junction with trail no. 409, keep following trail 410, descending through the increasingly dense forest until reaching Lago Ghedina. On the lakeshore stands the Ristorante Lago Ghedina, where visitors can enjoy gourmet dishes on the terrace overlooking the water at the foot of the Tofane.
