The Christmas Market in Val Sarentino, known as Alpine Advent, is truly atmospheric. In this valley 30 minutes from Bolzano, every Saturday and Sunday from late November to late December, in the wooden huts you will find local farmers and craftsmen presenting their typical products: handmade jackets, felt slippers, wooden utensils, dwarf mountain pine fragrances, creative bouquets, household items, honey and beehive products.
Alpine Advent in Val Sarentino means rediscovering tranquillity and silence, in a time that has now disappeared. Don't miss the chance to taste the delicious apple fritters, to watch wood being worked, to see the living nativity scene and to listen to the carols. For children, art workshops.

Not to be missed:
- Carriage ride: 14.00 - 17.00
- Children's programme: 13.00 - 17.00. In the magical Christmas Forest the smell of bread sticks cooked over the bonfire fills the air, while in the Creative Lounge you can make Christmas decorations together.
- Rohrerhaus: on Alpine Advent weekends, the Rohrerhaus Museum is open from 14.00 to 18.00. An exhibition of nativity scenes is also set up.
- Mass: every day at 6.30 in the Parish Church of Sarentino
- Klöckeln: on the Advent Thursdays preceding the winter solstice (3, 10 and 17 December 2026), curious masked figures walk through the village streets in the dark, singing melodies and collecting offerings. On these evenings, the food stands of Alpine Advent stay open from 19.00 to 23.00.
How to get to Val Sarentino
By car: from Modena (A22); Milan (A4), Verona (A22) up to the Bolzano Sud exit. Then follow the signs for Val Sarentino.
By train: all IC and EC trains stop at Bolzano station. From there you can reach Val Sarentino by scheduled buses.
By air: the nearest airports are Verona Villafranca (about 190 km), Bolzano (40 km) and Innsbruck (85 km).
By bus: scheduled buses from Bolzano to Val Sarentino.

In the locality of San Martino, near the Reinswald cable car, there is a large free car park.
