From mid-July to mid-August, Wednesdays are all about the Long Shopping Evenings ("Curiosity Wednesdays") in the historic centre of Sarnthein, affectionately known by the locals as the "Dorf".
On 15, 22 and 29 July, and 5, 12 and 19 August 2026, from 7:30 pm, the village centre comes alive with a varied programme for visitors of all ages. For the occasion, the centre is closed to traffic, shops remain open until 9:30 pm, and the streets fill with market stalls, local culinary specialities and entertainment for the whole family. A special event combining shopping, authentic flavours, local traditions and the culture of the Sarntal Valley, creating a festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
