At 1500 meters altitude, nestled in the pristine landscape of the Sarntal Valley, the Penserhof Alpin Hotel & Restaurant is an intimate and well-kept retreat inviting you to slow down and reconnect with nature. With only 13 rooms, this small gem is located in Pennes, a quiet and authentic village far from mass tourism. Pets are not allowed.

In summer, the area reveals itself as a true paradise for hikers and cyclists. Among the most loved routes are the Alta Via "Hufeisentour", the "Sieben-Schupfen-Weg" trail, the stone men itinerary, the hike to the Lazfons Cross, and the MTB tour to the Cross Pass in Hafling. Spectacular panoramas and untouched nature accompany every step and pedal stroke.

In winter, the Sarntal Valley turns into an oasis of peace and quiet, ideal for those seeking authentic snow experiences. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ski mountaineering, and sledding offer the chance to experience the mountains in all their beauty. The entrance to the cross-country trail is located directly next to the hotel, where you can rent Madshus equipment: Junior Set, Classic Set, Skating Set, and Race Set. Upon request, the staff will gladly organize cross-country skiing lessons, individual or group. For ski mountaineering enthusiasts, guided tours are available among the magnificent surrounding peaks. From this year, it is also possible to rent K2 skis and skins at the hotel.

The rooms and suites, cozy and carefully detailed, offer a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Equipped with all comforts – private bathroom, TV, safe – some also have a balcony.

The Penserhof restaurant offers fresh, seasonal dishes every day, prepared with selected local ingredients sourced from regional producers. Upon request and for an extra charge, gluten- and lactose-free alternatives are available. Breakfast includes organic yogurt, freshly prepared eggs, fresh bread, cold cuts, and mountain cheese. At lunch or in the afternoon, you can enjoy a snack or a slice of cake on the panoramic terrace. In the evening, it’s the perfect time to discover South Tyrolean specialties accompanied by a good wine.

The wellness area includes a Finnish sauna, a hot tub, and an infrared cabin, ideal for rejuvenating after a day outdoors. In the garden, a wooden platform offers the perfect space for yoga or simple outdoor exercises, in harmony with nature. The offer is completed by a large lawn with sunbeds and a bocce court.

Sustainability is an integral part of Penserhof’s philosophy: solar energy, electric car charging station, reusable dispensers for bath products, waste separation, and plastic reduction are some of the practiced measures. Guests also receive the Sarntal Card, which allows free use of public transport throughout South Tyrol, promoting responsible mobility.
