2 new Most Beautiful Villages in Italy in Trentino

18 January 2023

Trentino-Alto Adige boasts 13 Most Beautiful Villages in Italy: Castelrotto, Vipiteno, Chiusa, Egna, Glorenza, San Giovanni di Fassa, Canale di Tenno, Rango, Mezzano, Bondone, San Lorenzo-Dorsino, Luserna and Pieve Tesino.

Trentino is enriched with 2 new villages this year: Ossana and Borgo Valsugana.

Ossana

Ossana is a favourite destination for both winter and summer tourism. In this season it is perfect for reaching the famous ski slopes of Peio, Tonale and Folgarida Marilleva, while in summer it invites to exciting excursions in Val di Sole. The Trentino village has been awarded the 'Most Beautiful Sky in Italy' certification, as it is the ideal place to observe the beautiful Milky Way and the starry sky. Between December and January, the village hosts one of the most remarkable exhibitions of cribs in Trentino

Borgo Valsugana

Borgo Valsugana, just a few kilometres from Val di Sella, displays a medieval mould with narrow streets and courtyards, ancient Renaissance and Baroque palaces located along the imperial road. There are many corners of the town to discover, such as the porticoes of the Lungobrenta, the Venetian bridge and the old Corso Ausugum with baroque gates and shops where you can stock up on typical products. Dominated from above by the imposing Telvana Castle, which can be reached via the Sentiero dei Castelli (Castle Trail) and can only be admired from the outside as it is a private residence.
