The walk begins in the centre of Fondo and reaches the famous Lake Smeraldo in just a few minutes, an artificial lake created by damming the Rio Fondo. Its emerald‑green waters and natural setting make it one of the most beloved spots in the area.
Towards Malosco between asphalt and forest tracks
After passing the lake, the route continues along a short paved road leading to a small bridge, beyond which a comfortable forest track begins. This flat and pleasant section leads to the village of Malosco, known for its historic houses and peaceful atmosphere.
