The Path of Knowledge is a short but meaningful trail that combines nature, art, and spirituality. It is ideal as a cultural and meditative walk, offering splendid views of the Isarco Valley and the surrounding Dolomites.
The trail starts at Velturno Castle (Castell Velturno), follows the road towards Snodres for about 50 metres until the Ziernfelderhof farm, where the hiking path begins. The route ends at the Church of St. George in Schnauders. Along the way, you will encounter four stone monuments created by the artist Sergio Sommavilla.
Theme of the trail: it is also known as the “Sunday Path,” an inspirational itinerary that invites reflection on the meaning of leisure time and spirituality.
Points of interest:
- Velturno Castle, the former summer residence of the Prince-Bishops of Bressanone, where the trail begins.
- The Church of St. George in Schnauders, the final destination, located on a panoramic hill.
- The stone monuments by Sommavilla, which punctuate the path with strong symbolic and artistic value.
