Immersed in the enchanting landscapes of the Val d’Ega, this hike leads through fragrant forests, wide clearings, and spectacular views of the Latemar, the White Horn, and the Black Horn. It is an easy route suitable for everyone, ideal for experiencing the mountains in any season.
Starting point: Obereggen
The trail begins at the large parking area in Obereggen, easily accessible from the main road. From here, follow trail no. 9, which climbs gently through the forest and reaches the characteristic Epircher Laner Alm in about 40 minutes. This mountain hut is the perfect place for a short break, offering traditional dishes and an authentic alpine atmosphere. The view of the Latemar accompanies you throughout the stop.
Continue along trail no. 9 to reach Mayrl Alm, a popular hut among hikers and open during the season.
The route then heads towards Passo Pampeago (1,996 m), where the welcoming Ganischger Alm and Zischgalm can be reached with a walk of about half an hour. Here the panorama opens onto the Dolomite peaks and the high‑altitude pastures.
Return
The descent follows the same route back, offering another chance to enjoy the landscapes of the Val d’Ega.
