The hike starts from Rifugio Paolina (2,125 m), following trail markers no. 39 and 549 to reach Rifugio Roda di Vaèl. From there, take trail no. 541 over Passo delle Cigolade (2,550 m), then continue along trail no. 550 to Passo delle Coronelle (2,630 m). Descend to Rifugio Aleardo Fronza alle Coronelle (2,339 m) and then towards Laurins Lounge, closing the loop back to Rifugio Paolina via trail no. 549 and 552.
Variant from Nova Levante
Starting from Nova Levante, you can take the Frommeralm cable car and the Re Laurino chairlift up to Rifugio Fronza alle Coronelle, from where the route can be followed in reverse. A convenient alternative that lets you fully enjoy the Catinaccio’s stunning scenery without giving up the thrill of a demanding mountain experience.
