This trekking from the Rifugio Lagazuoi to Passo Valparola is one of the most scenic routes in the Dolomites, ideal for hikers who want to immerse themselves in the authentic landscapes of the Lagazuoi–5 Torri area. The hike begins at the Rifugio Lagazuoi, reachable by cable car or on foot, and follows the 401 trail toward the Forcella Selares.
Once at the saddle, the route continues left along the 20A trail, partly following the line of the famous Armentarola piste. This stretch offers breathtaking views of the Fanis–Scotoni peaks and the impressive Conturines group, with wide open spaces and dramatic Dolomite rock faces.
The final section leads gently toward the Passo Valparola, an area rich in history and dominated by the iconic Forte Tre Sassi. The entire itinerary is well‑marked, panoramic, and suitable for hikers with basic experience, thanks to its steady gradients and spectacular high‑altitude scenery.
