A panoramic hike suitable for everyone, ideal from May to September, starting from the renowned Albergo Heubad in Fiè allo Sciliar and leading to the charming Malga Tuff and the welcoming Hofer Alpl. The route winds through the unspoilt nature of the Sciliar–Catinaccio Nature Park, among spruce forests, traditional farmsteads, and the famous Lake of Fiè.
From Albergo Heubad, the trail crosses the Moar, Rungger, Zimmerlehen, and Kreiter farmsteads, entering a beautiful forest of spruce and Scots pine. After about 45 minutes, you reach the Lake of Fiè, one of South Tyrol’s most iconic spots.
From the lake, continue along forest road no. 1 towards the Upper Lake. After passing the stone marking the entrance to the Sciliar Nature Park, you reach a junction: here trail no. 2 branches off to the right and gently climbs through the forest, passing the evocative Woofen Cross, set on a porphyry and sandstone boulder.
A few minutes later, the trail turns right and descends to a wooden bridge over the Rio di Fiè. From here, follow the forest road that passes the Moarmüller farm (trail marker no. 4) until you reach the paved road connecting Umes and Fiè. In about 10 minutes, you arrive in the small village of Umes, completing the loop.
