From Maria Vittoria Barrella’s journey through Argentina
The second appointment of the summer edition of the music festival “Paesaggi Sonori – Musiche dal Mondo in Valle dei Laghi,” a project that brings internationally renowned artists and great interpreters of global musical traditions to the region.
A theatrical performance themed around Argentina! Through the eyes of Maria Vittoria Barrella—who acts as a unique narrator of their stories—the show reveals who the Trentine-Argentines of today are: what they preserve, what they forget, and what they long for.
On stage with her, musician Lorenzo Bernardi creates a soundtrack that blends Italian and Trentine sounds with Argentine melodies. The music underscores the scenes, suggesting emotions, creating atmospheres, and evoking images—painting a musical bridge between two cultures now indissolubly linked.
The dramaturgy, curated by Maura Pettorruso, comes to life from Maria Vittoria's diaries kept during her stay in Argentina, enriched by interviews, images, and historical and sociological notes. This approach transforms the narrator’s intimate experience into a universal and cross-cutting story.
Compartimos reflects important values such as active citizenship and emigration as cultural enrichment. The project highlights the interaction between cultures, promoting a deeper understanding of common roots and the importance of migration experiences in building an enriched and diversified society.
