A guitar and a chromatic harmonica can contain a world much larger than a duo might suggest. Antoine Boyer and Yeore Kim come from distant geographical and musical paths and met in 2018 at the Gypsy Jazz Festival in Taipei. Boyer grew up musically in manouche jazz, working from a very young age with some of its most authoritative performers, before deepening his classical guitar studies. Yeore Kim, a Korean, is a virtuoso of the chromatic harmonica, an instrument to which she gives surprising melodic and tonal possibilities. From that encounter a dialogue emerges in which jazz, gypsy, classical, pop and improvisation cease to be separate categories. After Tangram, the duo presents You and I, a project that brings the partnership between the two musicians even further to the fore: standards, compositions and reinterpretations become material for an intimate yet virtuosic concert, where technique is never an end in itself but serves to build a story told in two voices.
