From the upper station of the Ciampac cable car (2142 m), near the Rifugi al Ciampac, you reach the Tobià del Giagher hut in just a few minutes. From here, follow the signs for the Ferrata dei Finanzieri, descending slightly along a small road and then along a path, before climbing the scree that leads to the start of the route at about 2175 m (30 minutes).
The ferrata begins with an initial rocky step equipped with metal cables, followed by a traverse to the left that crosses pegs and a short gully. The route continues beneath the wall of the Colàc, climbing slabs and rocky steps until reaching a panoramic spur. The central section, recently renovated, tackles a very exposed stretch where a series of metal ladders allows you to overcome an area of brittle rock, improving safety and progression.
Back on the original line, the route climbs an equipped gully and gains the ridge of the fore-summit. From here, following the crest to the right, you reach the summit of the Colàc (2715 m), a spectacular viewpoint over the Marmolada, the Sella Group, and the Val di Fassa (about 2h15 from the start).
The descent follows the south‑east side along an equipped path that drops into an initial scree gully with fixed ropes and a few rungs. It then traverses right into a second small gully, before circling the south‑west flank of the Colàc and reaching the valley facing the Val di Contrìn. From here, the route climbs to Forcia Neigra (2509 m), a panoramic saddle overlooking the Ciampac basin. The marked path then descends into the valley and reconnects with the road leading back to the Rifugi al Ciampac (45 minutes).
