Immersed in history, nature, and wide panoramic views over the Valsugana, the walk to the Rocchetta is an easy and evocative hiking route, ideal even for families with children. The trail unfolds on a small promontory south of Borgo Valsugana, easily accessible and generally walkable from February to November, weather permitting.
Route description
The starting point is Piazza Degasperi, in the heart of Borgo Valsugana. From here, follow the direction toward Maso Piagaro: just before the overpass crossing the SS47, a path on the left climbs gently through the woods. The trail is well marked and soon meets the paved road coming from Maso Piagaro.
Continuing to the left, you reach the entrance to the historical area of the Rocchetta, a natural viewpoint overlooking the town and the entire valley. Here you can find First World War remains, harmoniously integrated into the landscape and enhanced by a wide, open view.
For the return, you can retrace the same path or complete the loop trail by descending toward Casa Angeli, a pleasant stretch that leads directly back into the town center.
