Trekking on the Piné Plateau – Cembra Valley: Cima Uomo Vecchio

The hike starts at Passo Redebus, easily reached from Bedollo, and follows the forest road leading to Malga Stramaiolo and then to Malga Stramaiolo Alta, surrounded by the gentle pastures of the Piné Plateau. Continuing toward the small cluster of huts known as Baiti del Conte, the forest road ends and the landscape becomes wilder and more open.

From here, the route climbs the valley on the left, a scenic stretch that leads to the ridge of Cima Stramaiolo – Cimat. The final ascent is the most demanding: a long slope rising toward the panoramic summit of Cima Uomo Vecchio, a natural viewpoint overlooking the Valle di Cembra and the Lagorai chain.

The return follows the same path, offering another chance to enjoy the wide-open landscapes and high‑altitude meadows that characterize this area. It’s an ideal itinerary from May to September, when the trails are free of snow and the plateau reveals its most vibrant colors.
