The Valsugana offers some of the most scenic panoramic routes in Trentino, perfect for those who love exploring the mountains by car, motorbike, bicycle or on short hikes. Among the most impressive are the Monterovere panoramic road, which climbs toward Passo Vezzena, and the panoramic road to Vetriolo, the natural gateway to the Lagorai mountain range. Both routes open onto wide views of the valley and lead to places rich in history, nature and Alpine traditions.
Monterovere Panoramic Road
The Monterovere road is a 15‑km route connecting the Valsugana to Passo Vezzena, a high plateau known for its pastures and for the production of the traditional Vezzena cheese. The ascent winds through forests and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley, offering spectacular glimpses of the Valsugana and the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo. It is a favourite route for motorcyclists, cyclists and travellers looking for a short but highly scenic itinerary.
Panoramic Road to Vetriolo
Just 12 km from Levico Terme, the road leading to Vetriolo reaches one of the most fascinating natural balconies in Trentino. From here, visitors can access the main trails of the Lagorai, one of the wildest and most authentic mountain chains in the region. The climb crosses forests of fir and larch and leads to several ideal starting points for hikes toward:
- Panarotta
- Compet
- Malga Masi
- La Bassa
