The Boè Lakes (2,275 m) lie on the wide eastern slope of the Sella Group, scattered at different elevations in an open and panoramic Dolomite landscape. They are easily accessible both from Corvara in Badia and from Passo Campolongo, making them an ideal destination for hikers of all levels.
Main Access Routes
From Corvara – Boè Cable Car
The modern cable car quickly reaches Crep de Mont, an excellent starting point for the hike. From here, a short 10‑minute walk leads to Lake Boè, nestled among high‑altitude meadows and the pale rock walls of the Sella.
From Passo Campolongo – Dirt Mule Track
From the pass, a comfortable mule track climbs to Crep de Mont in about 45 minutes. It is an easy and scenic route, suitable even for families and less experienced walkers.
The Second Lake: Le Ponte – Las Fontanes (for intermediate hikers)
Continuing southwards, you reach a second lake located at the foot of the distinctive yellow‑black walls of Le Ponte, on the Belluno side. The area is locally known as “La Gran Dolada” or “Las Fontanes”, a natural terrace suspended between the slopes of the Sella.
Traverse to Passo Pordoi (approx. 2h30 – for experienced hikers)
From the Rissa area, follow the red‑marked signs leading to the upper slope, where a panoramic ledge offers beautiful views over Val di Livinallongo and the Marmolada.
The route skirts a prominent rocky spur and continues along a well‑marked path that enters a small green valley. From here you can:
1. Descend to the German War Memorial of Pordoi
A striking itinerary that leads directly to the ossuary dedicated to the Austro‑Hungarian soldiers of World War I, just above Passo Pordoi.
2. Continue towards Forcella Pordoi
By following the red markings, you descend until you meet the path leading to Forcella Pordoi, the access point to the namesake mountain hut and the Sass Pordoi cable car.
