Trail description: The Tru dles Liondes, which means “Trail of Legends” in Ladin, is a nature-themed itinerary winding through conifer forests and alpine meadows near San Vigilio di Marebbe, in Val Badia. The trail is about 2.9 km long, with a minimal elevation gain of 60 meters, and can be completed in under an hour. It’s suitable for all ages and poses no technical challenges.
The starting point is at Hotel Aqua Bad Cortina, along Strada Fanes, easily reachable on foot from the village center. Before setting off, it’s recommended to pick up the interactive quiz at the Tourist Office or the Visitor Center of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park—a fun way to engage children in discovering local legends.
What you’ll discover along the trail: The path features 11 storytelling stations that recount the epic tales of the Kingdom of Fanes, with characters like Princess Dolasilla, talking marmots, magical eagles, gnomes, and knights.
