Amid the gentle slopes that connect the Puster Valley with the Isarco Valley, the Bee Trail of Rodengo leads visitors of all ages through a bright and welcoming landscape of flowering meadows, traditional farmsteads and wide-open views of the South Tyrolean mountains. It is a route that invites you to slow down, listen to the soft hum of the bees and discover, step by step, how one of the region’s most precious products is created: honey.
The hike, approximately 7 km long, starts at the Rodengo Tourist Office and winds its way through woods, clearings and historic farms. After an initial descent, you reach the Locherhof farm, where you can observe a real beehive up close. Continuing through the greenery, the path leads to the Lechnerhof farm, home to numerous bee colonies and an ideal stop to learn the secrets of beekeeping thanks to the explanations of a local expert. The return route offers a beautiful view of Rodengo Castle before closing the loop back at the starting point.
