Cross‑Country Skiing on the Paganella Ski Area

The Paganella Ski Area, which includes the villages of Andalo, Fai della Paganella and Molveno, is one of the most popular destinations in Trentino for alpine skiing, thanks to its modern lifts and perfectly groomed slopes. Although it is mainly known for its excellent alpine skiing offer, the area also provides some charming opportunities for lovers of cross‑country skiing, especially around Andalo.

The Andalo Life Cross‑Country Center features two trails set in a wonderfully scenic natural environment. The first is the Girolago loop, an easy 2.5‑kilometre route that circles the entire surface of Andalo’s karst lake. With snowmaking and night lighting, this loop allows visitors to enjoy cross‑country skiing throughout the season, even after sunset, creating a particularly atmospheric experience. The second trail, longer and more demanding, stretches for about 5 kilometres and leads towards the Priori area, entering the woods on the edge of the Adamello‑Brenta Nature Park. It is ideal for those seeking a more technical and immersive experience, far from the busier alpine slopes.

Beginners will find Andalo welcoming and well equipped. The center offers a dedicated ski school area, where qualified instructors provide lessons for newcomers. Additional services include equipment rental, storage facilities, changing rooms and support areas that make the experience comfortable and accessible for everyone.

In this corner of Paganella, cross‑country skiing becomes a way to experience the mountains at a slower pace, breathe in the quiet of the forest and enjoy the beauty of Trentino’s winter landscape.
