Fourth event of the second edition of the music festival ‘Soundscapes - world music in the Valle dei Laghi’.
The North Wind transports us to the world of Celtic music with a unique project that brings together Michel Balatti (member of Birkin Tree), an Italian flautist of superlative technique and sensitivity, a purebred Irish violinist such as Tola Custy (heir to a well-known family of musicians from Toonagh in County Clare, acclaimed soloist and founder of Calico) and a Scottish singer and guitarist from Glasgow such as Tom Stearn (in Italy since 2012, founder of Kettle of Kites and member of Birkin Tree). A project - documented in the album of the same name - based on a deep dedication to traditional music, with particular reference to Irish music, which is treated with the necessary philological respect but also with the expressive freedom that gives the repertoire an appreciable balance of refinement, energy, emotional appeal and contemporaneity.
Songs from Ireland, Scotland, England, Brittany, Northern Italy, Scandinavia and the United States, as well as original compositions, interpreted with an essential but profound sound rich in spatiality, at times intimate and at times dynamic and dense with nuances.
