As summer comes to an end and autumn arrives, the Dolomites change their look. The forests turn yellow, orange, and red, the leaves begin to fall, and the clearer days offer a special light. It is precisely in this season that the Dolomite walls light up with the colors of the Enrosadira, giving life to the natural spectacle known as the Burning Dolomites.

Between mid-September and the end of October, and on some days even into November, the sunset offers one of the most evocative panoramas of the year: the last rays of the sun illuminate the peaks and transform the rocks into a mosaic of red, pink, and orange shades.

Enrosadira: Sunset Hike to Sëurasas with Aperitif The experience begins in the late afternoon from the Cristauta parking lot, where you cross the forests of Val Gardena following a path surrounded by nature until you reach Sëurasas, a spectacular viewpoint over the Dolomites.

Here, the sunset takes center stage. The last sun rays stroke the mountains, the sky turns intense colors, and the Dolomite walls take on the characteristic fiery red shades of the Enrosadira.

To make the experience even more special, a break is included at a quaint mountain hut, where an aperitif accompanied by a snack and dessert will be served. After admiring the sunset from the rocky outcrop of Sëurasas, you return to the starting point after nightfall, illuminating the path with headlamps provided by the organizers.

Enrosadira: Sunset Hike to Sëurasas For those who wish to focus purely on the magic of the sunset, a hike to Sëurasas without the aperitif is also available.

In this case as well, departure is scheduled for the late afternoon from the Cristauta parking lot. The route goes through the forest to the viewpoint, where you can stop to admire the last sun rays and the extraordinary transformation of the landscape.

When the warm light of the sunset hits the walls of the Dolomites, the panorama glows red and orange, presenting a particularly striking spectacle on clear autumn days.

Starting in September, the larch needles begin to change color: from green to yellow, then orange, and finally shades of red and brown. At the same time, the special light of the setting sun highlights the Dolomite rocks, which take on the warm, fiery shades of the Enrosadira.

This is how the "Pale Mountains", a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protagonists of ancient legends and sagas, seem to transform into mountains of fire. Ridges, spires, and rock walls are wrapped in a golden and reddish light, framed by the intense blue of the autumn sky.
