The hike begins at San Ingenuino (832 m), just past the Saubacherhof hotel (refreshment point). Turn right and ascend along trail no. 28 – Saubacher Koflweg. The path to the summit of Mount San Ingenuino / Saubacher Kofl is steep and slippery when damp—sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
At the first junction, turn left and follow trail no. 34 to Saubacher Schritzenholz, then continue uphill on the Rampold trail to reach Mount Heidrichsberg.
For the return, take a right at the junction and follow trail no. 27 to Rastall Alm, then descend toward Pian, passing the Lukas and Unteraichner huts and the small lake Nixenteich. At the next junction, turn right and follow trail no. 3 to Kasserol. Trail no. 34 leads to the distinctive Katzenleiter and the spot called Katzensprung.
Finally, trail no. 28 descends left along Mount San Ingenuino back to the starting point.
Recommended for hikers with sure footing. Proper footwear and a backpack with snacks and drinks are essential.
