A moderately challenging hike through stone pine forests and alpine meadows in the heart of the Luson Alps. The ascent to Monte Muro offers an immersive experience in pristine nature and stunning Dolomite landscapes.
The route starts from the Stadel car park, following a forest road northeast. At the second bend, a short trail (approx. 300 m) connects to the Schwarzbach forest road, which leads to a plateau with a mountain hut. From there, a marked path climbs left to the alpine road and reaches the Ütia de Pecol (1,930 m), a welcoming rest stop.
Continuing east along the alpine road, you reach trail no. 1, which leads to the Monte Muro Hut (2,157 m). From the hut, trail no. 1A ascends northwest to the ridge and follows it northward to the summit of Monte Muro (2,332 m), with wide views over the Luson Alps, Sass de Putia, and surrounding Dolomites.
The descent can follow the same path or lead to Pè de Börz (1,862 m) near Passo delle Erbe, via trails 2B and 2.
