A varied and rewarding MTB route that crosses some of the most authentic landscapes of the Ahrntal Valley and the Puster Valley. From the high‑altitude atmosphere of Passo Gola to the rural roads of Caminata and Villa Ottone, and finally the smooth stretches towards Perca and Nove Case, this loop offers the perfect mix of nature, Alpine culture and riding enjoyment.
Itinerary
From Passo Gola, the tour begins with a pleasant descent along the forest road leading to the charming Malga dei Dossi, surrounded by pristine Alpine scenery. From the hut’s parking area, continue on asphalt towards Riva di Tures, passing through the village and riding past the church, always on a gentle downhill.
At the junction for Acereto, follow the paved road descending towards Campo Tures. Just before entering the village, you’ll find the turn‑off to the famous Riva Waterfalls (Winkel)—be careful not to miss the sharp left turn in front of the first house.
From the waterfalls junction, take the narrow paved road descending into the forest; after the small chapel, turn left following the signs for Caminata di Tures. The route continues between farms and meadows, following the road sign “30”. After the sign, turn right at the first junction, right again at the second, and finally left before the bridge. The trail becomes flat and smooth until reaching Villa Ottone.
Once in the village, turn left before the bridge and follow the paved road running along the Aurino River. From here, the route continues towards Lunes, Perca, and finally Nove Case, crossing peaceful rural landscapes ideal for a relaxing ride.
