One of the most iconic and accessible routes in Madonna di Campiglio, the trail leading to the Upper Vallesinella Waterfalls is a blend of nature, freshness and flowing water. Itâs the perfect itinerary for those seeking an easy yet highly scenic walk, immersed in the forests and crystalâclear waters of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
Trail Description
The starting point is Madonna di Campiglio (1,522 m), from where you follow the road towards the Vallesinella Valley. During the summer months, access is regulated and visitors often continue by shuttle bus to the Vallesinella parking area, located near the mountain hut of the same name.
From Rifugio Vallesinella (1,515 m), you pass the barrier and continue along the forest road until it ends, where the Upper Waterfalls Trail begins. The path enters the forest among spruces and larches, accompanied by the roar of the Sarca di Vallesinella, which here forms a series of spectacular cascades.
The trail is short but full of charm:
- wooden walkways and small bridges
- cool, shaded stretches ideal on warm summer days
- glimpses of the Brenta Dolomites
- pools and small waterfalls along the stream
In just a few minutes you reach the Upper Waterfall (1,650 m), an impressive cascade opening into a natural amphitheatre of rock and mist. Itâs a perfect spot to pause, take photos and enjoy the power of the water descending from the high peaks of the Brenta.
The return follows the same route, with the option to stop at the hut for a panoramic break.
