At the foot of the Alpe di Siusi, in the town of Castelrotto, December is synonymous with Christmas Market. The municipality, which extends from the Isarco Valley to the Fassa Valley and the Gardena Valley, from November 28 to December 27, 2026 hosts among its streets, in the shadow of the majestic Baroque bell tower, a small but characteristic market with stalls offering handcrafted items, tasty local specialties, all accompanied by Advent music.
Christmas Market in Castelrotto: products
At the Christmas market in Castelrotto you can buy cinnamon and peppernut biscuits, warm up with a hot mulled wine or taste the traditional Zelten, Stollen, Spekulatius. Adding to the atmosphere, many stalls full of exclusively handmade items: jams, felt gift articles, candles, decorations and floral arrangements.

How to get there
By car:
- from the north: exit highway A 22 Chiusa - Sciliar Plateau/Alpe di Siusi, take the SS12 to Ponte Gardena, then follow the direction to Castelrotto (17 km).
- from the south: exit highway A 22 Bolzano north - Sciliar Plateau/Alpe di Siusi, follow the SS12 to Prato Isarco then direction Alpe di Siusi.
By train: all IC and EC trains stop in Bressanone or Bolzano. From Bressanone or Bolzano it is possible to take a bus line that goes to the Sciliar area.
By air: the nearest airports are Verona-Valerio Catullo (180 km) and Innsbruck (109 km).
By bus: buses to Alpe di Siusi departing from Bolzano, Bressanone and Chiusa (stops near the railway stations).

Large free parking for cars and coaches at the valley station, near the cable car.
