The village of Ossana, in the heart of Val di Sole, is one of the most charming destinations to experience Christmas in the Dolomites. From late November to early January, the village transforms into a true Christmas destination, featuring a traditional Christmas Market inside the Castello di San Michele and an enchanting nativity scene trail winding through the historic center.
Ossana Christmas Market
Within the castle walls, the Christmas Market welcomes visitors in an authentic and intimate setting. Traditional wooden huts blend seamlessly with the historic architecture and offer a selection of local products, including culinary specialties and handcrafted items from Val di Sole.
Nativity Scenes
In the historic streets of Ossana, visitors can enjoy a unique experience surrounded by tradition. The route begins beneath a large comet star in the village center and continues through atmospheric alleys illuminated by soft lights, leading up to the castle.
The exhibition features nearly 1,600 nativity scenes created by artisans, schools, volunteers and local residents. Natural materials such as corn leaves, seeds, fabrics and wood are transformed into creative works that reflect local craftsmanship.

Guided tours: 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM on market days (meeting point at the info point)
Activities: A “Nativity Treasure Hunt” is available for children and families

Castello di San Michele
The Castello di San Michele is open from November 27 to January 6, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and until 7:00 PM on market days.
Entrance fee: €4 full / €3 reduced (under 18 and over 65) / free under 6 and Trentino Guest Card holders
Guided tours: 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on market days (included in the ticket)
Christmas Village
At the foot of the castle, the Christmas Village offers activities for families and visitors of all ages.
In the Piazzetta del Castello, visitors can explore Santa Claus’ House, meet Santa and discover his world together with his elves.
Also located here is the Magic Elf Sleigh, an interactive attraction (paid activity).
Inside the castle, a traveling show wagon hosts storytelling and performances for all ages.
The experience continues in Piazza Venezia with the Befana House.
