A gentle loop through historic hamlets, traditional farmsteads and the Riva Waterfalls
Description
This easy, family‑friendly MTB loop starts in the centre of Campo Tures, where you pedal towards the bridge over the Aurino River to reach the oldest part of the village, San Maurizio. The first section unfolds on a mix of asphalt and compact gravel, perfect for warming up and finding your rhythm.
Following the road towards Riva di Tures, you reach Frenes Farm, surrounded by the rural landscapes typical of the Aurina Valley. From here, a short but enjoyable steeper stretch leads to Winkel (Cantuccio)—a climb that requires a bit of effort but rewards riders who enjoy alternating smooth pedalling with brief uphill bursts.
The route continues towards one of the area’s most spectacular highlights: the Riva Waterfalls, easily reached via a rideable forest path that alternates wooded sections with panoramic viewpoints. The sound of rushing water and the cool forest air make this segment especially pleasant, particularly on warm summer days.
A flat road then leads to the Caminata farmsteads, where the scenery opens onto bright meadows and sweeping views of the valley. The return to Campo Tures follows a smooth, flowing track—an ideal way to end the ride in total relaxation.
