A short yet surprising route, ideal for anyone who loves walking through authentic nature, discovering unusual viewpoints and admiring geological formations dating back to the Ice Age.
From the heart of the village of Collepietra (820 m), follow trail no. 2, which gently climbs between traditional farmsteads and meadows until it reaches the small and charming Weißes Bild chapel (895 m), a panoramic spot cherished by locals. From here, the atmosphere changes: the path enters the Katzenbach gorge, a cool and shaded environment where the forest closes in around the stream, creating a naturally enchanting passage.
Beyond the gorge, the trail leads to the Gschlierhof farm, one of the area’s historic mountain farms, overlooking the sunny slopes above Collepietra. The ascent then continues towards the Dosserkreuz, a panoramic cross rising above the famous Earth Pyramids, spectacular clay pillars topped with boulders and shaped over centuries by erosion and ancient glacial moraines.
From this point, you can either return along the same route or continue on a pleasant panoramic stretch towards the Dosserhof farm and then on to the Heiglerhof, surrounded by meadows and clearings with views of the Sciliar Dolomites.
